Brisbane-based software developer Patient Zero has promoted senior consultant Brendan Homann to chief operating officer as the company aims to expand its managed services game.
The appointment comes after the company launched a new managed services offering to support its applications and hired a development team based in Sydney.
Homann spent more than six years with the company as a principal consultant before being promoted to head of operations and will be responsible for leading the developer’s expansion.
Patient Zero boss Paul Briggs said Homann’s abilities as a product owner and
consultant meant he was the perfect person to scale the business.
“Brendan’s role is critical in ensuring that we are able to effectively bridge the gap between
sales and deliveries, and maintaining our ability to execute with exceptional results as we scale,”
he said in a statement.
“Key to this will be his ability to sustainably change the way we work, ensuring that we
continue to empower our people to innovate and deliver exceptional work to our customers.
“Brendan is ideally positioned to help us sustainably accelerate our growth into Sydney and
beyond.”
Commenting on the promotion, Homann said he is looking forward to expanding the diverse range of industry and technology services, building stronger relationships with partners and growing the managed services side of the business.
“Since we established the Teams-as-a-Service business, we’ve delivered hundreds of
comprehensive cloud-native applications, enabling everything from patient engagement platforms
to waste management solutions and insurance technology,” Homann said in the same statement.
“By leveraging the engineering principles of site reliability and automation, our
The full lifecycle managed services approach is able to proactively address 60% of
issues before they affect a customer, focusing on application maintenance – not fixes
bugs as they appear.
“We have recently signed a number of managed service customers, both for existing applications
they own and the new apps we’ve created, who are excited about our unique approach to
supporting their apps, and the amazing team at PZ available to support them.
The company also made a number of internal promotions, including the
appointment of Demelza Green as the first senior director of experience and
promotion of Josh McCure and Emilien Perico as custodian developers.
Brigs said the newly created role of chief experience officer will help the company deliver an “exceptional experience for employees, customers and end users.”
Homann added that custodian developers are valuable sounding boards for the company’s development teams and “play a supporting role in the day-to-day life of delivery, ensuring that we deliver working software to customers, Everytime”.
“Despite the constant challenges that COVID-19 has thrown at us, we are proud to set the stage for an exciting year of growth.”
