Amaizu Melody is a Nigerian software developer who aspires to make a significant impact on the tech industry by bringing people together and preparing them for opportunity.

He was featured on Techpoint Africa after his team (Team Excess) won Startup South’s Hackvote Hackathon in 2018, came out as a runner in a global hackathon hosted by OneHackathon in 2020, and was honored as a finalist in the Facebook Testathon. 2019.

Over the years, he has coached and taught software development at national meetings and programs, and he co-hosted the Google Devfest event held in South-South Nigeria, and also served as a mentor for newbies in the Andela Learner Community.

Because he cares about making a credible impact in the tech space, he decided to embark on this journey of introducing up to 1000 Africans to the tech world through Fullstack Development.

Amaizu Melody is currently working as a software engineer at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Northwestern Switzerland. His greatest aspiration was to drive innovation in Africa, which is why he wanted to acquire the necessary knowledge.

He believes that if we could educate people or make available the technological capabilities needed to lift Africa out of the third world, the time needed to bring next-level technological development to the continent would be shortened.

Every economic sector is becoming more and more dependent on software for its growth; even an artificially intelligent system is irrelevant without working software. Imagine the number of ideas that could result if at least 10-20% of young Africans understand and are able to develop software.

The goal of the Full Stack Web Developer program is to equip learners with the unique skills they need to build database-driven APIs and web applications.

A graduate of this program will be able to:

  • Design and build a database for a software application.
  • Learn how to use version control systems (Git and Github)
  • Build and deploy a database-based web API (application programming interface).
  • Secure and manage user authentication and access control for an application backend.
  • Deploy a Springboot-based web application in the cloud using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Courses on career development and preparation for employment.

This program includes up to 5 core courses and 4+ projects. Every project you build will be an opportunity to apply what you’ve learned in the lessons and demonstrate to potential employers that you have practical skills in full development.

Estimated time:

The duration of the course would be six months, with students spending an average of five to ten hours per week.

In other words, it won’t try to accelerate. It is important to him that as many people as possible benefit from this course. He therefore suggests extending the time allotted to him so that the students can take their time to learn the material and come back for clarification or additional information if they need it.

Prerequisites:

Anyone with access to a laptop and learning materials can participate in this program; no programming experience is required.

While self-paced learning is fantastic, it still leaves room for a bit of sloppiness and procrastination, so it would apply a hybrid learning style that is live and pre-recorded course content. Live lessons will simulate a classroom where students can interact with a teacher in real time, receive immediate feedback on their questions, and be shown how to complete exercises before being given access to the edited version.

If you miss a live session, don’t worry. You can also view a clean recording of the session once it has been uploaded.
