Microsoft helps young Pakistani girls become software developers

Microsoft, the world leader in software, has enabled young girls to enter the field of software application development.

The Microsoft Power platform has made it easier for even elementary school students to develop custom apps to suit their needs, said a press release posted here Thursday.

Due to their friendly nature, 10-year-old Pakistani twins Zara and Zenubia became the youngest to have the certification and the youngest pair of twins in the world to pass the Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals certification.

Their journey to developing apps with little to no coding knowledge started with adopting a growth mindset and encouraged creative expression and self-discovery from an early age.

The twin sister’s success story begins, when the two were exposed to the Microsoft Learn platform which included apps and resources that would lead them to create their very first Microsoft Power Platform app – an expense tracker. which reads data from an Excel spreadsheet and helps users create a budget. Their father spurred their interest in software as he was forced to work from home during the COVID-19 lockdown.

They started learning software from there and taught themselves basic programming. Even after resuming their studies, they continued to develop their interest in programming and started replicating applications by gaining experience on the web in their free time and creating expense management solutions for their father. .
