Saudi Arabia – The Red Sea Development Company (TRSDC), the developer of the world’s most ambitious regenerative tourism project, has successfully implemented the first wave of Enablon modules to integrate, automate and streamline governance, risk compliance, health and safety, environment and sustainability, business continuity and internal audit practices across the organization.
TRSDC said Wolters Kluwer’s Enablon was selected because of its industry-leading position as an integrated software solutions provider.
The project was launched in January last year and after a 15 month long design and consultation process, the team has now launched the integrated solution.
CEO John Pagano said: “We began this journey at the height of the global pandemic, with the goal of integrating many of our risk and control functions. The primary focus was to improve oversight, reporting and alignment between the multiple functions involved in delivering standard health and safety practices. The rollout came at an opportune time, with a workforce at the site exceeding 16,000 employees and under – TRSDC contractors.
Hailing the team involved in the project, Pagano said, “This was a large-scale implementation project that involved multiple internal and external stakeholders. I would like to congratulate everyone involved for the success of the first phase, which supports TRSDC in achieving its ambitions. as a global leader in responsible development.”
Working with management consultants Ernst & Young, Wolters Kluwer as software provider, and Wipro as implementation consultant, TRSDC created a committee that oversaw the progress and implementation of the solution.
Wolters Kluwer Enablon Vice President and General Manager Laurent Dechaux said, “We are delighted to partner with The Red Sea Development Company on such an important and ambitious project. Our Enablon vision platform provides TRSDC with a 360 degree view of the project’s risks, Health and Safety issues.”
“We are pleased to help TRSDC make a deep impact where it matters most while staying accountable, productive and safe through innovative technology,” he said.
On the successful deployment, EY said TRSDC was indeed a pioneer in conceptualizing the alignment between its risk and control functions, using Enablon’s strength to bring together governance, risk compliance, health and safety, environment and sustainability, business continuity and internal audit. “
Throughout the 15-month implementation period, our priority was to ensure that TRSDC requirements were met with a focus on future adoption and value, he added.
Given the remoteness of many sites being developed at the Red Sea Project, one of the key benefits of using Enablon’s solution is the systems ability to be used in offline mode, allowing prepare and then upload incident data or inspection and audit reports. once the device is connected to the network. Equally beneficial is the mobile phone app which is user-friendly for employees recording data on the go.
Selected representatives of the TRSDC health and safety team received technical training from the system engineers. This has prepared site teams with the knowledge to not only use the system, but also to provide cascade training to all contractors and Red Sea personnel who have been identified as Enablon users. said the TRSDC press release.
Additional features are being evaluated as part of efforts to continue to automate and improve operations through the integrated Enablon platform. The system will also be deployed for Amaala and the growing number of projects in the TRSDC portfolio.
TRSP has already achieved significant milestones and work is on track to welcome the first guests by early next year when the first hotels open. The first phase, which includes a total of 16 hotels, will be completed by the end of 2023.
When completed in 2030, the Red Sea project will include 50 resorts, offering up to 8,000 hotel rooms and more than 1,000 residential properties across 22 islands and six inland locations. The destination will also include an international airport, luxury marinas, golf courses, entertainment and leisure facilities.
