We have the opportunity to join the Alliance as Software Developer IV – EDW in the Data Analytics Services department.
We are filling a position in one of our three Alliance offices (Merced, Salinas, Scotts Valley) or it can be filled remotely in California.
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE: Reporting to the Enterprise Data Warehouse Manager, you:
- Act as the hands-on lead for the architecture, data modeling, design, development, documentation, testing, and implementation of the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) system and ETL/ELT applications
- Provide guidance related to the use of EDW development best practices
- Lead software sprint planning and ETL/ELT design and development as part of the Agile development cycle
- Provide subject matter expertise and help provide mentorship and training

Knowledge of:
- Dimensional Modeling, Data Warehouse Design, Data Architecture and Data Modeling
- Structured Query Language (SQL)
- Microsoft SQL Server database
- Microsoft Azure
- ETL processing (extract, translate and load) and SSIS packages
- Project management and coordination principles and practices
Ability to:
- Develop, document, apply and provide guidance on EDW development best practices in Wherescape systems, including 3D and RED, using the latest Data Vault methodologies; or, in modern enterprise data warehouse systems
- Collect and analyze complex data and information, solve problems and develop practical and effective solutions
- Provide advice and recommendations on projects, tasks and issues, including the impact of proposed solutions
- Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, organize work and meet goals and deadlines
Education and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in management information systems or computer science
- A minimum of eight years of enterprise data warehouse experience (a master’s degree can replace two years of required experience); or an equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify
OTHER DETAILS:
- Although this position is connected to one of our Alliance offices, we are currently in a hybrid work-from-home environment and anticipate that the interview process will take place remotely.
- Our Alliance offices officially reopened on May 2, 2022 and while some employees may work from home full-time, attendance at quarterly company-wide events or department meetings will be expected.
- Depending on the nature of the work, this position may require on-site presence, which is dependent on business requirements. Details on this can be reviewed during the interview process.
