About SAS
The South African Sugar Association (SASA) provides a diverse range of highly specialized services to the South African sugar industry and our activities are funded primarily by cane growers and sugar companies. Our mission is to provide specialist services that enhance the profitability, global competitiveness and sustainability of the South African sugar industry. SASA operates from approximately 45 locations in KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga and Gauteng. These include Kwa-Shukela and the South African Sugar Cane Research Institute (SASRI) based at Mount Edgecombe, Shukela Training Center at Mount Edgecombe and Mtunzini, Sugar Terminals at Maydon Wharf and Maputo, currently 11 sugarcane testing centers, seven SASRI research stations, 17 pest and disease/biosecurity offices and SASA offices in Pretoria. SASA is a hugely diverse organization employing around 1,000 people in a wide range of specialist fields, including agriculture, science, engineering, management and a range of business-related fields.
About UsBased in Mount Edgecombe (KZN), Autolab’s development team develops products for the exchange and management of laboratory and weighbridge information. The internationally acclaimed LIMS package we use enables development in C# to deliver best-in-class software products to customers across many locations. As a small, specialized department, we pride ourselves on being able to combine technical excellence in software engineering with a solid understanding of our customers’ needs.
The roleThis position is a permanent opportunity. You will be involved in the development and implementation of software using C#, HTML, CSS, TypeScript, VGL and ASP. Net under the guidance of senior software developer and Autolab manager. You will provide network, application, Oracle database and operating system support to end users.

You will be a highly motivated individual, able to work effectively within a team, in a fast-paced and challenging business environment, with: A degree or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Information Systems C#, HTML, CSS , Typescript and ASP. Net software development experience Angular and web api software development experience Experience in one of the current SQL database management systems, preferably Oracle Knowledge of software development life cycle Knowledge of serial communication protocols and the linking of serial peripherals to computer systems will be an advantage Free mention of a code 08 driving license.
