Medical Software Consultant: Embedded Software Job with Team Consulting

Team Consulting is an award-winning employee-owned device design and development consulting firm. We focus solely on medical devices, supporting international clients ranging from large pharmaceutical companies to start-ups. As a member of the Electronics and Software team, you will work in our high tech labs and workshops located in our 17th century barn in the Cambridge countryside, 5 minutes from the M11.

Our customers come to us for all stages of medical device development. By combining our expertise and experience in design, engineering and human factors, we help our clients develop medical devices from initial concept to commercial launch.

Like a Medical software consultant work on Embedded Software, you will be responsible for the design and development of robust and innovative products for the healthcare and medical sectors.

What you will do:

  • contribute to the entire product development lifecycle of medical devices containing software
  • support business development activities relevant to Team Consulting’s software offering understand and capture customer needs and translate them into practical product requirements document software architecture and design keep abreast of and apply new technologies to medical systems participate in Team Consulting interdisciplinary medical device product development projects, e.g. brainstorms, risk assessments, design development, design testing, sales meetings and presentations

What we need from you:

  • good degree, 2:1 or higher in Computer Science or Electronic Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience and experience developing embedded applications experience programming in C and/or C++ working knowledge of bare metal Python meta-programming and use of an RTOS appreciation of electronic design

Desirable but not essential:

  • knowledge of IEC 62304 medical software development standard
  • wireless connectivity experience such as Bluetooth Low Energy, Wi-Fi and NFC built-in Linux experience
  • work experience for a medical device development company or consulting firm
  • experience and skills in liaising with customers and suppliers, both technical and non-technical
